Declare. It’s a word that gets right to the point. To declare something means to state or to make that thing known, unequivocally. I am working on an article about trait agreeableness and it’s almost anticlimactic that this one comes before that — it was supposed to be something of a foreword.

What I want to say, in a nutshell, is that I love God. I love serving and worshipping him, in my utterly dysfunctional way; it’s the only way that I’ve known how to for a long time and that is mostly because I never sought out another way, a better way. I simply stuck with going to church on Sundays and being an absolute other person the rest of the week. Then, rinse and repeat.

Faith Without Works

I had a conversation with my father this evening on what it was like for him after he had given his life to Christ and how he managed relationships. We went through an anecdotal experience together and, to cut the long story short, it started with snapping vinyl records.

This was a while ago, obviously, and those were some pretty neat records, in part because they were difficult to sniff out. But, he aligned them up in a pretty queue, and broke them one after the other. About a year…
