This is a difficult piece for me to write for two reasons. The first is that I understand how most people feel when they or others talk about being Christian and going to church on Sundays and attending Bible meetings; it’s a touchy subject for most, to say the least. The second is personally knowing that I’m not where I want to be on this journey and I’m still doing my best and failing more times than I would honestly care to admit.

But, I opened up my Medium page and I was moved to write this, therefore, write it I shall. There might not be a lot of Amens and Hallelujahs at the end of this post but I do hope this will reach somebody and touch them deeply, and I hope someone gets moved and pulled in the right direction.

In retrospect, the desire to write this may be attributed to the fact that the novel I am currently working on is religious fiction and based on Christian beliefs — more on that later for the avid readers in the community. But, that is only part of it if I’m being perfectly candid.

The book was also intended to be set in the contemporary romance genre but, with an eerie sense of humor, my brain did a Uno Reverse on…
